HotJar: My New Favorite Website Tool | Showit Websites by Viva la Violet

I want to share my new favorite website tool with you today- HotJar! If you find google analytics to be a bit overwhelming or if you're not even using it to track your visitors- you are going to absolutely love this!

I recently found out about a tool called HotJar. It's a free service that records videos of visitors on your website (whaaaaaat?!?!), and it's blowing my mind! It allows you to see exactly how your visitors interact with your website, how long they stay, what they click on, and more! You can even view heatmaps to see which exact parts of your website get the most activity.

I particularly love this tool because for the first time, I am seeing how my visitors respond to buttons, links, call to actions and even my website copy.

One thing I've learned is that having a clear headline that explains what you do and who you serveon the top of your home page is what all of my visitors take the time to read. Pairing this headline with a clear Call to Action has really helped guide my visitors on the exact journey I have laid out for them. I encourage you to add these two things to your website if you haven ot yet done so!

If HotJar sounds like something you're interested in, I invite you to sign up for a free account and check it out. You're going to love it, I just know it!

P.S. If you don't have a website for your small business yet, no worries! I have something to help you out! Download my free Website Roadmap now.

P.S.S. If you are ready to hop over to the Showit platform, I invite you to read about the Top 5 Reasons I Love Showit, and browse the collection of website templates in the shop!
